Certified Medical Assistant - (Physical Medicine and Rehab.)
The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in University Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) works in the outpatient setting as a member of a healthcare team, actively affecting quality patient care.
The CMA assumes responsibilities for: maintaining patient flow in the clinical areas, maintaining clinical supplies in the exam and treatment rooms, as performing basic skills such as vital signs, point of care testing, height and weight, etc.
The CMA is an organized, independent individual who possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The CMA exemplifies the Rush mission, vision, and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

Position Type: Full-Time
Education/Special Skills Required: Requirements: 1. Current Medical Assistant Certification by AAMA, AMT, or NCCT (must include principles and techniques of injections and medication administration.)
2. Graduate of Medical Assistant Program.
3. Current CPR Certification.
4. Previous work experience in a busy outpatient setting preferred, neurological surgery experience also preferred, but not mandatory.
5. Must be confident, independent and highly organized professional who can provide quality patient care in a very busy, stressful environment.
6. Must be able to work independently and efficiently.
7. Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and staff.
