Description
We are presently taking resumes for 2 positions in our Medero Medical Orange office. One of the positions is for a Medical Collector. The other position is for Charge Entry.
Our specialty is Occupational Medicine. Our busy office provides billing for six medical offices statewide. Some knowledge of Florida Workers’ Compensation is preferred, but not necessary as we will train. Verifiable references are required. You must have medical billing experience.
Working hours are Monday thru Friday, 8am to 5pm. Six major holidays closed. We offer vacation time, sick time, 401k, health, dental, and life insurance. Pay is based on experience.
Requirements
For the Medical Collections position, the applicant must have Medical Billing and or Collection experience. Because our specialty is Occupational Medicine, we collect from the carriers, not patients. The applicant must be familiar with EOMB and adjustments; and have experience dealing with insurance carriers.
Both positions will be working from our office on North Orange Blossom Trail. Must be a self starter and be able to work alone well.
Must have good telephone etiquette. Must be able to multitask. Basic computer knowledge. Non-smoker. English-Spanish bilingual is preferred; Must be able to drive to our Ocala Corporate office for 2-4 weeks for training.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in related field
Minimum of three years experience in health records management.
Minimum of two years supervisory experience.
Prefer professional certification, (Accredited Record Technician (ART), Certified Records Manager (CRM), Records Health Information Technician (RHIT), or Electronic Records Management (ERM)), or plan to obtain.
Experience with electronic records preferred.

Assignment of accurate codes based on documentation of diagnoses/procedures in the medical records. Selecting optimal reimbursement under the DRG/APC system, utilizing coding guidelines and appropriate documentation in the medical record. Includes inpatient and outpatient coding.
Job Requirements
Must have a high school degree with specialized training to include medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and ICD-9-CM/CPT coding. Working knowledge of JCAHO standards, ICD-9-CM coding background, and interpersonal skills. Can follow accepted coding principles to assign all diagnoses and procedure codes for inpatient or outpatient records utilizing ICD-9-CM and CPT. Hospital coding experience preferred.
Ability to float within all Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare locations is a must.
